The Happiness manga series is about an unlucky teen Makoto who is attacked one night by a vampire, she gives him the choice to die or become like her. The story then follows him and his friends as their lives change following that night. I picked up the first volume because I saw it on booktube (Books with Chloe I believe) and I'm a sucker for a good vampire story. It is just overwhelmingly bitter sweet which is an emotion I seek out in pretty much all my media because I like to destroy myself. Though if you strip the series down it's not incredibly original I found it to be so much richer than 'just another vampire story'. I found the art style incredibly appealing, the pace flowed very naturally that along with the various characters developments and directions their lives went made this series stand out to me.
I think if you're a fan of vampire horror stories or horror manga you'd really enjoy happiness.
